Flu season is hitting hard this year, but not to worry, we've got 4 simple and effective ways from Stanfords Children's Health to protect yourself from the sickness.
1.When using tissues make sure to toss them! While this rule may not be a concern to you to other it may. Instead of using a tissue and throwing it in your pocket, make sure to immediately throw it away so the bacteria can't have a chance to stick around.
2. Avoid contact. Now I know that hugging your boyfriend or girlfriend is hard to resist but if they're sick you're going to want to save it for another day. The trying to avoid a sickness refraining from contact is the best solution.
3. Practice good health habits! This is such an important rule to follow since healthy habits lead to a healthy life. While it may be tempting to load up on ice cream you'll definitely want to get in all the nutritious food you can in order to help you immune system fight off the nasty bacteria. Fruits high in vitamin c are always a good go to...hello oranges!!!
4. Wash your hands! Please do yourself a favor and wash your hands after using the bathroom and before you eat since germs are more frequently traveled by touch. If no sinks near by then whip out a small thing of hand sanitizer that way you'll be able to get some sort of sanitation.
